So Grant has this rash. At first we thought it might be from these water-coloring tablets because that's when it sprung up. Well, we've stopped and have been giving him baths using aveeno oatmeal packets. We've been doing that for five days now and it's not getting better.

I shouldn't go to WebMD because right now I'm thinking that it might be psoriasis or eczema. >__<

I'm scared.

Grant has not had a nap today. I tried to lay him down. He drank his nini and laid in his bed watching Bob the Builder for about thirty minutes but then as I was trying to pick up my closet, I heard him climb out.

You know, he's really a genius at getting out of his bed. He does not fall out. No. He grabs one end of the bed, swings leg out, grabs the end with another hand to swing another leg out and while he is still holding on, he just drops down. He's been climbing out for months now.

I've had him most of the day. Nana had to work and his mother went in to cover for someone.

I have a few minutes reprieve because Nana is home and they are mowing. It's laundry time.

He didn't have a nap but I sure need one.

My aunt and her son plus his wife and their baby are visiting. We went to Kohls. Since I was watching Grant, I had this idea. Given my sister hates it when Grant wears so much as a shirt wit a single pink striple in it, I had a grand idea!

It would have been better if she had been annoyed. D:

Reason #115,#116, and #117 for why my sister, Cari, sucks!
(ME!) we are not amused
[info]simply_blah
#115 - She does not change the toilet paper at all.
A - She cannot be arsed to bring in a new roll of paper from the closet if she sees that the roll of running low.

#116 - She will leave a toilet backed up, for someone else to fix, instead of getting a plunger and fixing it.

#117 - She uses way to much toilet paper.

Yesterday, when I got home from class, I ran into the house because I had to use the restroom in the worst way. I had a coffee from the cafeteria. The milk had upset me.

I ran to the half-bath only to find that it was backed up with toilet paper. I tried flushing it but it wouldn't go.

So, I ran upstairs to use the restroom and I looked at the roll... It didn't look empty! I did my business and then reached for the paper only I found that there were three squares left but two of them had bunched to the cardboard making it look fuller. If not for the baby wipes that were in the bathroom for make-up removal purposes, I would have had a very awkward and uncomfortable couple of minutes.

I was so annoyed. How hard is it to at least put in a roll or to get the plunger and unplug the toilet? NOT VERY!

Then I realized that she left the kitchen a mess. Her lunch and breakfast bowls were sitting on the counter with food encrusted in them. The dishwasher hadn't been ran and it was full. There were empty boxes left on the counter and wrappers. The boy had no clean cups of bottles. Oh yeah. I also found five old bottles underneath Grant's crib and one underneath her bed.

EPIC FAIL!

There are many a mornings when this is what I'm awakened with...

THUD! THUD! THUD!

"No! Don't go into her room!"

BAM!

THUD! THUD! THUD!

*insert the babbling of a two-year old*

>_< "Hello Grant."

In other news, I finally got my financial aid money. This means that I can go the the doctor's office to get a refill on my medicine. I shouldn't have to pay sixty bucks for a refill but that's a topic for another journal entry.

Also. I'm going to bite the bullet and apply at Wal-Mart and Krogers. I really don't want to work there. It's Wal-Mart and grocery stores are at the bottom end of pay as far as retail goes. Hello minimum wage.

"Why do you want to work here?"

Ugh. I hate that question.

"I don't really want to work here. Wal-Mart is known for treating people like crap but you are hiring and I need a job."

That response may be honest but it is so the wrong thing to say.

And this night was going so well...

Tonight, I took Grant to a toddler gymnastics class. (Nana is paying.)

It's not really gymnastics. It's more along the lines of they run, jump, skip and climb on things. He had a really great time after he saw what was on. I mean, he had a super great time. He really liked the long trampoline because there was a giant foam mat to jump on. He also liked the slide from the second level into a vat of foam blocks.

He had such a good time that he didn't want to leave and he's not the most socially inclined of babies but we're working on that.

Prior to that we stopped at McDonalds and he ate well. He ate almost all of his four chicken nuggets and a few fries. For him, that is good.

After the gymnastics class, we stopped at Target to change his diaper and get him a chocolate milk for the ride home. I took my grandmother, his great-grandmother with us. While at Target we got some mini ice cream sandwiches for Grant and my grandfather some low-dose aspirin since his idiotic doctor had him taking a full aspirin each day and now after checking his colon, he thinks the aspirin might be causing the problems. But I digress...

Grant was good in Target. He didn't shy away from holding a hand and didn't act out.

The car ride home is uneventful except for fog.

It's when I walked in the door that everything became soured.

I pulled my grandmother's car into our driveway and asked if she wanted me to drive her home. She said no, she'd drive herself home so I could take Grant in. (She lives two doors down.)

Tracy, my mother's husband (fucktard douchebag is more like it), looks at me and says, "I thought you would at least be nice enough to drive Gram home."

He always has little bitchy, snippy comments like that. Saturday night my grandmother made poorpuds. Yum. It was an hour to go to wait for the ham and veggies so I got me a little bowl and got me one. This is not rude. Everyone does this from my mother to my aunt to my grandmother to my sister. Once the poorpuds are ready, it's pretty much open season on them.

He didn't say anything to anyone else. He looks at me and says, "Everyone else is hungry too."

If he somehow became incapacitated, I would not mind at all.

So yesterday there was a shooting at Knoxville Center Mall.

My Grandfather and Grant were there.

Why were they there? Well. I didn't want to watch Grant and didn't want to take him anywhere myself. I had a lot of housework to get done because as I've stated before, my sister is completely useless. I needed to do the Grant's laundry, I had a load, towels, and one load of my mother's laundry. Plus, the kitchen needed to be cleaned, my room needed to be picked up, and a few other little things. I love Grant dearly but I can't do that when I have to watch him.

So Pop took the boy to the mall. They have a little play area. They have some riding toys. They have lots of stuff for him to look at and he likes the pretzels and he can walk around.

The shooting happened about fifty feet away from them. They were underneath the food court and the shooting occurred down near the escalators.

They are okay, thank God.

But it was my fault that they were there.

Cut for stuff about my two days with Grant )

Today was pretty much like Saturday except that I didn't take the boy to the park. After his second nap (and mine) we go to Target. He's fine. He goes down to sleep.

Only he woke up a little after ten crying. Cari was fussing at him, telling him that he had be quiet and go back to sleep. She did that for a while before I rescue him.

Oh guess what!? Grant has a fever you dumb fucking slag. That's why he was crying. That's why he's not going to sleep. I take him downstairs to rock and try to calm him. I gave him some Tylenol but he's just not having it. I think I was down there with him for about an hour.

Finally his Nana came out. She's spent the last thirty minutes trying to get him calmed down enough to sleep. I don't hear him crying.

Cari, is sleeping soundly. She went back to bed and is still sleeping on her fat, lard ass. I didn't want her hovering about but still come on. HE'S HER KID! She could still be up, concerned or something. Bitch.

She really doesn't realize or care how lucky she is and how many people she has to help her.

Grant has a pair of Chucks. Not just any color though! They are red.

In addition, he also has a blue box.

Grant is feeling cranky today. Maybe he's teething. Maybe he's just cranky. Whatever.

He doesn't want to do anything. He doesn't even want to take a bath. He loves baths.

What does he want to do?

Run around naked.

Dragon*Con and School Update!
(Charlie Weasley) Tonks did the wash
[info]simply_blah

I HOPE THAT EVERYONE WHO IS GOING TO DRAGON*CON HAS A WONDERFUL AND SAFE TIME!!!!

Also. I just finished my math homework. 1-89 doing every other odd. I only got one wrong and one I'm doing some funky stuff and got lost. I think that for me that is pretty good. I don't feel optimistic about it but I don't feel quite so pessimistic about it.

Oh yeah. They let me switch to a lower math class. I DO NOT MIND AT ALL! I tried to switch with my adviser but they wouldn't let me. The first day of class my teacher approached me and asked. I jumped at the chance. THANK YOU JESUS!

I'm taking Western Civ I. The classroom is hot but the class isn't boring. There's a lot of notes taken which is okay but the classroom's temperature is stifling. It's all the way on the third floor and the class is pretty packed.

I'm re-taking Intro to Interior Design. The last time I took it was eight-nine years ago. I got a B but that's still a long time in between. So far it's not boring but we'll see.

I'm taking 2D Design. UGH! THIS IS BORING RIGHT NOW! All we do is talk and discuss. >_< The teacher needs to pick up the pace.

I'm also taking Intro to Word Applications (Word-Excel-Access-Powerpoint). It's not boring but it's just kind of generic.

Books are so freaking expensive. I spent (including my TI-83 calculator) around $600. It was outrageous. I should have asked for the full freaking amount on my loans. I was looking forward to getting new glasses.

Also. The boy, Grant, is walking now. :D

Note to self:
Tonks
[info]simply_blah
When Grant gets scared because of a very loud and very sudden noise, the appropriate response is not to laugh.

When Grant wants to be picked up and cuddled because he is scared, again the appropriate response is not to laugh.

When he continues to act scared and wants to snuggle, I should not laugh.

Even if the look on his face as he cut off the cable box to make the TV static filled was hysterical. Even if he tried to crawl up my shirt, I should not laugh.

I really should not...

But it was hysterical.

And I think I just laid him down for his third nap. O.o

I'm watching Grant today. He's fine. I think he's having a sleepy day because he's already on his second nap and right now he's normally playing.

Anyway, I was in the kitchen and the boy was playing. I was rinsing out his bottles and bowls and he crawled over to the barstools. He looks like a little geico when he crawls. Anyway! The next thing I know he's pulled the barstool down on top of him. And it's just fallen so that he falls through the opening and he doesn't get hit. Thank God! He looked up at me as though I had done it. I think it scared him because he started crying big old, elephant tears.

Oops.

Seriously though, he's into everything. We have a stand that sits next to the dinner table and I looked at him and he had pulled it out and had crawled behind it. On top of this stand is a very large, very heavy glass vase. I took that and put it onto the dinning room table. It about gave me a heart attack when I saw him.

Hooray. Unemployment checks are a go!
it's magic
[info]simply_blah
My unemployment was approved! I get $141 (this is after taxes are taken out) for the next nineteen weeks which is almost five months which will give me funds until November if I don't find a job. I still need to find a job. As nice as it is too mooch, I need more funds than that if I want to avoid relying on student loans for the next semester.

This does mean that I'll be able to purchase Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I'll buy it Saturday though. I live in the boonies. I don't want to drive out at 11:30 and then drive back at 12:30. I think I can wait. When I do post my review? Everything is going to be blank, my moodtheme, icon, subject line.

There's also the whole issue of getting out of the house and I still need to call the KMA. I will do that tomorrow when I have Grant. I'll be watching him all day tomorrow and Friday which I didn't realize that I was going to go see Hairspray and OoTP Friday. Ahh well, he's cuter. I'll see it soon enough anyway. I just hope that they're both good.

My Day
(Charlie Weasley) Tonks did the wash
[info]simply_blah
Well. Apparently fourteen days means fourteen business days with the Unemployement. -.-

I also found out that my SSN # got entered incorrectly on my loan form so I got that remedied.

I also put in for a job at my sister’s work. It would be so nice if I can get that.

Then I went and picked up Grant and took him home. He was being fussy today so I took him for a walk. I took him the long way to the park and walking track. We stopped and sat down and shared a bottle of water. Then I took him to the playground. I didn’t wear his butt out but I wore mine out. We swang. I took him down the slide. He tried, and succeeded in climbing up the slide from the bottom. We swang some more. He climbed. I was exhausted. He was not. So I took him around the track. I walked all the way around it but he still wasn’t asleep so I took him the long way home.

I finally got him to take a nap at about 5 and which point I took a shower because I was covered in sweat. He was awake when I got out but luckily for me his Nana was home.

I cleaned up the kitchen and vacuumed. I then cooked dinner and gave the boy a bath while his Nana and mother took a shower. After I loaded the dishwasher I came upstairs and picked up my room. I swear it gets dirty everyday then I collapsed onto my bed and watched the History channel.

I did not look into volunteering at the Knoxville Museum of Art. I forgot. :(

(no subject)
(ME!) i'm so happy
[info]simply_blah
Dear Financial Aid Website,

My social security number is not invalid. It is a perfectly good number, it just wasn't issued by the state of Tennessee. I've not gotten married or been divorced and it's been two years since I've moved. The number should be fine.

So let it go through already!

I want to have love for you,
Me.

I was got out of bed at 6:30 this morning to take care of Grant. He was fine. I fed him and what does he repay me with as soon as his mother walks out of the door? A stinky diaper, thanks Grant. I let him crawl around after I had barricaded (and it's quite ghetto looking) the way into the kitchen and towards the stairs.

An hour and a half later I gave his his next bottle and then we went for a walk up and down the side of the street because that the great ourdoors is his favorite thing in the whole wide world. He didn't fall asleep and after about forty minutes outside I came in. This old, beat up brown truck drove three times down the street we were walking on. I got the heeby-jeebies and took our butts inside.

I should not have laughed at the boy when he crawled underneath his high chair and got stuck. He couldn't work out getting back over the base so when he'd crawl, he took the high chair with him. The Boy also likes lattes. >_>

I got him to sleep at 9 and then we both took a two hour nap. I heard him wake up once but thankfully he went back to sleep. I got up at eleven but he continued to sleep for another thirty minutes. Then his mama came home just as I was feeding him macaroni and cheese. He's her responsibility now.

And now I have a lot of cleaning to do. I need to clean out my car. I need to clean out my storage cubby. I need to vacuum everything. I need to do laundry.

I'm not going to that place where my sister works to turn in an application because I keep having to run to the bathroom for 'stomach problem'. It's not a lot of fun. I'm gonna go Monday, right after I find out what's up with my unemployment status. I think I should have heard something by now.

And I'm really, really feeling icky. My heart is racing and my stomach is in knots still. It's been this way since I applied for a student loan. I don't like the thought of a student loan but at this point it's my only option.

It might be because I didn't eat much yesterday. I had a double cheeseburger, applie pie and tea from McDonalds along with a bowl of cheerios and a latte. It wasn't exactly healthy. Today? I had cup-o-raman. Not the best thing either.

I've also got to fill out these birthday cards and get them sent off. I think that when the boy wakes up, me and him will walk down to the post office.

I miss my kitty. :(

So I made some macros using my nephew...
(Dr. Who) oh captain! my captain!
[info]simply_blah
Cut for pictures )

EDIT: And this is a good edit because I forgot to mention that I had a Captain Jack dream! KAlas. It wasn't one of those sorts of dreams either.

We had been transported back to the Blitz. (I think I may have been Kate. I'm not sure.) I had to had in the countryside because of the bombs and I was wearing robes. There were other people around. We tried hiding in drainage pipes, caves, whatever else was underground. At one point we saw a tank coming over a hill so the other people decided to book it. We took off for parts unknown. We stopped at a house for shelter but we had to show them our teeth before they would let us in.

So I tried to contact jack via a telephone/monitor thing. I was like "Things are really getting bad." And Jack's like "Yeah." Then I wanted to come into the city to be useful. He was like "No wai! It's too dangerous."

At that point the rest of the dream gets a bit foggy. Jack was playing Pac-Man by a river and a barge was going by. WTF brain?

:(

Well, I thought I was going to have a good payday today. However, they did not change my rate of pay when I got promoted to assistant manager. It was approximately $200 less than it was supposed to be. I was going to go shopping next weekend when TN is having their tax-free weekend on clothing and shoes. I don't need a lot but some polos and new shorts would have been nice. Can I do that now? Not really.

I also cannot get a carseat for my nephew, Grant, that stays in my car. He's getting too big for the infant carrier. Also, it's too damn hard to take the one my Mom and sister has out of their car. Meh.

I'm also feeling a bit weepy today.
